On 8 June 2021, I participated -along with Eurídice Cabañes and Adrienne Shaw- in the round table ‘Identities and Genders in Video Games‘ within the City and Science Biennial organised by the City Council of Barcelona. Summary:
Video games are a mirror of our social reality, also of gender diversity and its problems, as much or even more complex as those we live outside them. In our social interactions through digital games we use avatars that represent us. How are these multiple identities represented? What gender roles do we assume in games? And what relationships and dependencies do we generate in relation to our life contexts?
